Nancy Golike has been a dancer, choreographer, performing artist, and teacher of movement for over twenty years. She holds a BA in Fine Arts with a Dance Minor from the College of William and Mary, and an MFA in Dance from Temple University.

Nancy’s movement journey began around the age of 10 when she started twirling the baton, rollerskating, and doing gymnastics in a friend’s backyard. At 16, determined, she got a job at a local fast food restaurant to finance her own dance classes in jazz and tap, and began performing in musicals and marching bands. During her graduate studies, Nancy studied with Hellmut Gottschild in the tradition of German dance theatre. She went on to be a modern dancer, choreographer, and performance artist in Philadelphia for over 10 years, performing in theaters, clubs, art galleries, and on the street.

Upon moving to NYC, Nancy fell in love with and immersed herself in folkloric dance, music, and percussion of the African Diaspora, expanding upon her early musical training in piano and voice. In addition to being a Certified Pilates Instructor, Nancy has explored many physical training systems, including the Gyrotonic Expansion System, yoga and martial arts. She is well versed in a broad range of healing modalities, and is a Certified Reiki Master. The entirety of Nancy’s explorations and experiences contribute to her understanding of the body as a medium for energy and expression. It is her greatest joy, sharing freedom and embodiment through movement.
